I like to say I was born on a day that doesn't exist in a place that doesn't exist. Technically, that's true. February 29th rarely exists and though the GPS coordinates are still around, the place where I was born is torn down. Most homes I ever lived in are torn down. One is now a gas station. Another is a baseball field. Time moves forward. It's called progress. Maybe that's why I love writing fiction. It will exist for as long as my grandchildren embrace it. My hobbies, besides writing, used to be much more varied, but I'm older and less active these days. I was a dance mom for twenty years. I've baked wedding cakes that were four tiers tall. I worked in commercial insurance for twenty years, cancer research review board oversight for five years, and have helped edit many published books for others. Our road trips were once legendary - mostly for the mishaps along the way, but, hey, water bottle fights inside the car are fun when it's 100 outside and the AC spews gray smoke an hour outside of Kansas CIty. And be careful calling for buffalo - because you might just find an entire herd blocking your path for an hour. Fun times. These days, I'm mostly a hermit, but I'm writing more! If you hang around much you will learn I have two children, a daughter, Tracie, who is a former science teacher, a Restorative Practices Specialist, now also a LPC-something, and a son, Richard, who started his own business at age 19 painting cars and is now becoming a mini-rancher with a horse and a goat and a very big barn. The pig ran away. Or had help to run away. Tracie has a son who is married with two toddler boys. They are adorable, of course. Richard has a wife and three daughters. Yes, he still has his hair, most of it at least. The middle daughter and her husband just gave him a grandson. So I have three great grandsons, all under three. Mischief Central in the future. If you are looking to BUY A CAR in the DFW area - ask for Isaac at Vandergriff Chevrolet. If you need a counselor - I would refer you to my daughter, but let's be real, she doesn't need any stalkers sent from her mother. But she's especially great with teenagers.
